Badsey Ladies 1, Camp Hill 1

BADSEY put together a much improved performance in their second Worcestershire League second division outing following the previous week's disappointing result at Worcester.

Due to lack of available slots at Evesham, Badsey have returned to Redditch Rugby Club for their home fixtures and found the newly laid Astroturf surface to their liking.

They took control right from the start and put together some slick passing to provide opportunities for forwards Claire Jones, Karen Robinson and Zoe Hodgkins.

Tireless running and strong tackling by midfielders Lisa Gavin, Jo Casey and Karen Moore provided great protection for a defence, whose only worrying moment of the half came when centre back Caroline Gorner made a cool goalline clearance.

Badsey's good approach work finally paid off when a great final pass into the D by player of the match Moore was converted by Gavin.

The second half followed much the same pattern with play going swiftly from end to end, although Badsey had far more chances.

A sudden downpour unsettled Badsey's concentration and a couple of wayward passes led to Camp Hill drawing level against the run of play.

Badsey then dug their heels in, but couldn't come up with a winning goal.

Badsey travel to Kidderminster for a 10.30am start on Saturday.
