EMPLOYEES from companies all over the West Midlands swapped their briefcases for helmets during a charity race day at Silverstone.
Around 200 people, from firms including accountants Price Waterhouse Cooper and watr firm Severn Trent, attended the race day at the Northamptonshire circuit, which included driving a Lotus Elise, go-karting and off-road 4x4 driving.
The event was organised by Severn Trent as a hospitality event and raised thousands of pounds for WaterAid, which is dedicated to providing domestic water and sanitation to the world's poorest people.
Each team of around 10 was supported and shown around by a professional driver.
The event, on Saturday, October 2, was the second to be held at the famous racetrack this year. The first was on Saturday, September 18.
Just over £40,000 was raised from both events for the charity.
"It was a fantastic day and we raised a lot of money for a very worthy charity," said Evening News reporter Sundeep Kumar.
"I enjoyed go-karting the most. I had never done it before but now that I have, I would love to do it again."
