THE work on a major development at Trinity High School in Easemore Road was inspected by town MP Jacqui Smith on Friday.
The school is currently undergoing a £2.1 million upgrade to build a new technology suite, due for completion by next September.
But the school has also recently been awarded Specialist Business and Enterprise College status which will mean a huge increase in funds over the next four years and will also see the development of a business centre for the students and wider community.
The school was merged three years ago with Bridley Moor High as part of the Redditch review and teachers recently celebrated excellent GCSE and A-Level results.
Headteacher Marion Barton said: "We are very proud of our achievements over our first three years and the facilities available for our students mean that they have the best possible environment in which to learn."
The new developments being built now also include a brand new arts suite and display area as well as state-of-the-art teaching areas for technology subjects.
Ms Smith said: "I am very please to see the progress being made here and would like to add my congratulations to the students and staff for their excellent results this year."
