AS members we do not normally meet in August, they decided to raise funds for the Associated Country Women of the World Water for All campaign by having a buffet and evening of music and dancing. This raised £500.
The September meeting went well, with many visitors attending.
Members were told that at the Annual Council Meeting on March 22 the speaker will be Nick Owen of BBC's Midlands Today.
They were reminded of the Literary Lunch on October 19 and a trip to York with Woodlands Travel on November 13.
The speaker for the evening was Nick Davies, of Fieldings Auctioners of Stourbridge, and after a short talk, he valued items members had taken along. Unfortunately, no-one had any great surprises.
Visitors are welcome at meetings, which are held every second Monday in the month at Alvechurch Village Hall at 7.30pm. For more details, call Denise Cashmore on 0121 445 3246.
