DROITWICH Spa's Matt Willis endured mixed fortunes at the U18s European Championships.
The 17-year-old, who plays for the Redditch Rocket, was part of the 24-man Great Britain squad that finished last behind Germany, Switzerland and Denmark at the Torbay Leisure Centre in Paignton between September 17 and 19.
Great Britain enjoyed a successful first two days, losing only to Germany in their six games. But on the last day when results counted for overall places they found the opposition a bit too strong and were beaten by Switzerland in the semi-finals and Denmark in a third place play-off.
