JOHN Barratt has written himself into the history books with a double at Bromsgrove Golf Club.
Barratt won his second 'major' of the year last weekend by beating Don Philpotts in the final of the Slideslow Cup to add to his Morris Bowl triumph earlier in the year.
It is the first time in the Stratford Road club's history that anyone has won both major single match play events in the same year.
Bromsgrove's 17-24 team have also finished runners-up in Division One of the Birmingham 17-24 League.
