DON'T be fooled by the words "must-see hilarious romantic comedy" on the DVD case. It is not. At all.

Daniel Rafferty (Pierce Brosnan) and Audrey Woods (Julianne Moore) are rival divorce lawyers whose constant battle of wits spills into their private lives.

When they find themselves representing both husband AND wife in a celebratory rock star divorce, the action is supposed to become side-splitting but it isn't. When they set off for Ireland to work on the case and come across Guinness-swilling hard-shoe stamping types, it still isn't funny. And when they get married in a drink-fuelled frenzy- no laughter here either.

And are we supposed to be captivated when they return to America, embarrassed by what they've done but determined to put up a united front of true marriage to protect their professional reputations? We're not.

The only time I laughed was when Michael Sheen was giving his mockey rock star impression. His genuine humour and the undoubted acting brilliance of the two main characters battling with legal cases, embarrassment and indeed the script were the spurs for the generous two star rating.
