THERE was a good attendance at the meeting in September.
It was announced that our president, Dot Waldron, will be our delegate at the Autumn Council Meeting, while members have accepted Salwarpe's invitation to their golden anniversary celebrations. The arrangements for the forthcoming visit to the gardens at Highgrove House were finalised and it was again agreed that we participate in the County Skittles Competition.
Our guest speaker was an old friend, Robin Skerratt, who told The Story of Clocks - a marathon journey from 4000 BC - when shadows that moved around a fixed stick were marked with a stone, through to the precision clocks that serve us today. Joyce Perks thanked Robin for his talk.
We meet again next Monday at 2pm in the village hall when Mr and Mrs Ledbury will be speaking on Traditions of a Morris Dancer Man and the competition is The Last Rose of Summer.
