THE Rotary Club of Droitwich Spa held its meeting in September at St Andrew's House Hotel. President John Skilton was in the chair. The Rotarians were accompanied by their ladies.

The Club had raised £3,000 from the Golf Tournament which had been organised by a group of Rotarians headed by Laurie Evans. The Mayor, Councillor Anne Taft, presented the cheque to the Three Counties Fundraiser for the Marie Curie Cancer Trust.

The president of Bromsgrove Rotary Club, Liz Pheasey, was present. She and her husband had taken part in the Great North Run and have raised money for Leukaemia Research.

The speaker for the evening was the president's son, John V Skilton, who is a chemist and lives and works in Germany.

He gave a fascinating talk on packaging of the food and drinks which we all consume. John Badger gave the vote of thanks.
