Adrian James, from Kidderminster, gave us a very enlightening talk in September highlighted by his wonderful slides of some lesser-known gardens. His background historical information of the seven gardens illustrated gave them new depth.
Congratulations were given to two of our members who formed part of the Snowdrop team in the Garden Quiz organised by Webbs. Olive Mason and Rosabelle Needham helped the team on to victory throughout the summer ending by winning the final - held at the Gardeners' World Show at the NEC in July. Money was raised for the Acorns Hospice and the ladies are presenting their winning pot to the centre when it is completed. Our outing to Ryton Organic Gardens was enjoyed by all, particularly the guided tour led by herbalist Julia Scott.
For our meeting on October 13, retired botanist Keith Ferguson will be describing some Mediterranean Plants for English Gardens. Visitors are welcome at the village hall in Chaddesley Corbett at 7.30pm. For further information please call Judy Berrow on 01562 777 014.
