THIS month, our members enjoyed an evening with the well-known plants woman Elaine Horton, who owns Tin Penny Farm on the Gloucestershire border. Elaine brings humour, warmth, knowledge and laughter to a meeting and we were amazed that she could grow such an amazing diversity of plants in her terrible soil in such a windy situation. The annual Village Show was a huge success and the classes were well supported with plenty of exhibits - despite the variable weather.
On October 27 we welcome the well-known botanist Dr Tony Hughes who will take us on a visual tour of Zermott to see the wonderful summer flowers grown in the mountains.
In November we have James Arbuthnott from Stone House Cottage Gardens to tell us about his "Follies and Fantasies." Visitors are always welcome and for more information please call Judy Berrow on 01563 777014.
