DEAR EDITOR - According to Councillor Rita Taylor, the "vast majority of the community" backed the council's plans.
Did we? I certainly remember that a vast majority of those who actually use the market hall raised a huge petition against the council's proposals. I cannot believe that if asked the question, the citizens of Bromsgrove would support the destruction of the town's centuries old market heritage and its replacement by a multi-storey car park monstrosity - which would be even bigger than that hideous carbuncle on Buntsford Hill in the most sensitive architectural area of the town.
This is exactly what is illustrated in the current edition of the council's propaganda organ Council Chat. Roll on the next elections!
Enraged, Bromsgrove.
