DEAR EDITOR - On the hunting debate, Secretary of the Worcestershire Hunt Ian Frank is absolutely correct. What right has this Government to use the Parliament Act to override the will of the House of Lords on their decision regarding the Hunting With Dogs Bill.

When will the democratically appointed House of Commons realise that they are not elected to express the will of the majority but rather to administer the will of us, the feudal minority.

I wholeheartedly sympathise with Mr Frank and his colleagues, being both frustrated and furious with this Government's misuse of paliamentary time and procedure and I agree, the matter should be challenged as a contravention of animal rights - sorry human rights - at the highest level.

As one of my hunt follower colleagues expressed to me at dinner only last week, whatever will I do with my Subaru pickup if hunting is banned? Have the Government thought of this? I sincerely doubt it.

How will the county's hotels survive without a regular trade in the supply of the very best single malt and vintage sherry to warm the red blooded passions of my fellow huntsmen on a cold winter's morning?

Indeed, what is one expected to do with a wardrobe full of hunting regalia, singly associated with the grand spectacle of culling the devil's advocate?

Tally Wow my friends, Tally Wow

Lady Annie Mel-Wright, Hunt End.
