A PROMISING footballer has realised his dream after signing part-time for Premiership club Aston Villa.
David Burtoft, a student at Droitwich Spa High School, has been offered a place to train with Villa's U16s on Tuesdays and Wednesdays while continuing with his GCSEs.
But to make sure his studies do not suffer, the 15-year-old Liverpool fan will be provided with an Education Welfare Officer.
David, who has been with Villa since being scouted playing Sunday football when aged 11, will train for four hours before starting his supervised study.
David has had to give up GCSE Geography but is receiving extra tuition in English from high school sixth form student Simon Robinson.
Deputy Head Jane Christopher said: "This is a tremendous opportunity for David. He is a driven student with the talent to be successful.
"We are watching him with excitement."
