TORY Parliamentary spokesperson Karen Lumley travelled to Africa recently to help train politicians.
Mrs Lumley joined forces with German colleagues to train Mozambique's opposition party, Renamo, in preparation for the country's elections on December 1.
She said: "I think we helped them understand how elections are run in the West and how to campaign.
"They are very keen to see a proper democracy in Mozambique and we were able to help them with UK training techniques and practical advice."
After training more than 500 people in a seven-day period and boarding eight planes in the same amount of time, Mrs Lumley said she was very tired but the trip was a "fantastic and rewarding experience".
