ROCK anthems, Gilbert & Sullivan and Indian dance are the eclectic mix of entertainment on offer this week at the Palace Theatre.
Saturday sees Vampires Rock, a musical fantasy set in 2003 New York when Steve Steinman, previously seen at the Palace in The Meat Loaf Story, plays the evil Baron Von Rockula, owner of the Live and Let Die Club, in search of a bride to be his immortal queen and live forever.
The musical includes songs from Meat Loaf, Rainbow, Bon Jovi, Queen, Bonnie Tyler and Cher and the audience is invited to join in the fun by dressing up in vampish style. Tickets for the show, at 7.30pm, are £14 (£13 reddicard). On Sunday, the Lantern Theatre Company present The Complete Works of Gilbert & Sullivan (Pruned), in 90 minutes in cabaret style, beginning at 6.30pm.
Two intrepid actors, Mark Ponsford and Laurence Aldridge, attempt the feat in a show suitable for all the family.
Tickets for the show are £10 (£8 reddicard).
Then on Tuesday at 7.30pm, the Chitraleka Dance Company delves into the mysteries of science with The Story of C - the story of a carbon atom (tickets £5.50). Told through Indian dance, seven performers follow the journey of the carbon atom through a musical fusion of Indian classical, jazz and modern styles. Tickets for all shows are available from the box office on 65203. Requests can also be emailed to palace.bookings@redditchbc.gov.uk
