BOY wonder Wayne Rooney has helped Westfields secure a major coup for their sell-out sportsmen's dinner tomorrow night.

The 18-year-old England sensation has sent a Manchester United shirt signed by himself for the Hereford club to auction at their event.

Westfields managed to get hold of the attractive item through a former player who now works in Manchester.

An England football signed by the squad from the recent game against Poland and an Arsenal shirt signed by the Premiership champions will also be up for grabs.

The Three Counties Hotel in Belmont is the venue for a 320-strong audience.

Westfields chief executive Andy Morris said: "We have a bumper night in store as we have Steve Kindon as our guest speaker with Rod Woodward as our comedian. Plus there will be a fantastic sporting auction which we hope will raise funds for us."

n Bromyard Town survived for almost an hour with ten men to beat Wellington 2-0 in the West Midlands League Premier Division last night.

Wellington started brightly but Carl Fairhurst stunned the visitors on 21 minutes with a terrific volley from the edge of the box against the run of play.

Ten minutes later, Andy Baylis was fouled in the area and Danny Hilditch made it 2-0 from the penalty spot.

However, on 34 minutes after an unpunished Wellington infringement Bromyard's Richard Fassnidge was dismissed for violent conduct.

Bromyard held out until the interval, reorganised themselves and worked tirelessly in the second-half.

With Andy Crowther and Rob Woodward particularly impressive in midfield, the hosts snuffed out everything Wellington threw at them.

A terrific double save by Bromyard's keeper Adie Hipkins with ten minutes left ensured the home team recorded a well-deserved victory.

Substitutes Gareth McCarthy, Chris Allen and Alex Cook played a huge part in Bromyard's win.

Ledbury Town are still unbeaten after drawing 3-3 at Kington Town.

In Division One, Hinton triumphed 5-1 at Ludlow Town Reserves.
