AN outspoken great-grandfather has vowed to continue serving the community despite his decision to step down as a county councillor.
Tory stalwart Tom Wareing will continue representing the Crabbs Cross division until next year.
Over the years, Mr Wareing has been vocal about certain issues and is a regular contributor to the Advertiser's letters page
He was first elected to Redditch Urban District Council in 1972 as a Labour councillor and served on Hereford and Worcester County Council from 1973-77, joining the Tory party in 1976.
Mr Wareing has since served on and off Redditch Council and was elected to Worcestershire County Council in 1997.
The father of four will continue with his work as governor of Dingleside Middle School and will still be active in his work with the Royal British Legion and the Salvation Army.
