IN-FORM Bromsgrove Rovers return to action this Saturday as they attempt to get another cup run on the road.

Joe Jackson's side, who have lost just once in the league this season, entertain fellow Southern League Division One West outfit Burnham in the FA Trophy Preliminary Round at the Victoria Ground (1pm).

Victory for Rovers would guarantee them £1,000 and set up a home first round proper clash with local rivals Halesowen Town on November 6.

And, given the team's early demise in the FA Cup last month, a prolonged spell in the FA Trophy would come in handy.

Manager Jackson said: "It's always good if you can get a good cup run. It brings in a little income to the club and boosts everybody in the club so there's lots of reasons to have a good cup run."

Jackson admits he doesn't know much about Burnham but knows he is likely to have a near full strength squad to pick from. Doubts hang over Kevin Banner, Riad Erraji and Jon Daniels.

Rovers' last game was the 3-1 home win over Paulton a week ago and Jackson believes there are the signs of improvement both in play and stamina.

He said: "There were indications in the Paulton and Rothwell games that we are getting somewhere to putting a challenge together.

"We are starting to play longer in terms of minutes and starting to keep it sustained. The more minutes we can get out of them the more they will dominate games."

Rovers will decide whether to make another move for Cinderford's Steve Lutz. They put in seven days for the player while signing Quentin Townsend and Steve Ulfig from the same club. But Lutz has opted against a return to the Victoria Ground although Rovers may make another approach in 28 days.
