A CLUB steward was grabbed by two men as he was locking up for the night at Rocklands Social Club between 12.40-1.10am on Saturday.

The raiders pulled the man back inside the bar area at the Birchfield Road venue and stole a money box containing a large quantity of cash after attempts to access the safe failed.

DC Stuart Hunt, of Redditch CID, said: "We are appealing to anyone who saw these men hanging around earlier in the evening or saw them leaving after the incident to give us a call.

"The cash was in a large blue Helux cash box and so someone may recall seeing two men hurrying away from Birchfield Road with it.

"They may have had a vehicle parked close by and again, if anyone noticed a car leaving at speed or anything they believe may be connected to the incident, then please get in touch."

The first man was Asian, in his mid-late 20s, 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build with short dark 'wet-look' hair.

The man was unshaven with a small amount of facial hair and was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a dark blue hooded sports top, which was up, with a white badge on the front.

The second man was Asian, in his mid to late 20s and of similar height and build to the first raider.

He was clean shaven and was wearing a dark hooded sports top and light tracksuit bottoms. He wore a sports watch on his left wrist and a ring on his left hand.
