REDDITCH United boss Rod Brown has already started to bolster his championship winning squad with three new signings.

Hinckley United central defender Andy Penny, young Stourport Swifts winger Rob Taylor and former Reds loan star Simon Hollis have already been snapped up by Brown who says he's now just looking for a striker.

Brown, who has also been named Dr Marten's manager of the year, said: "I made a decision with Gary (Whild) a while ago about what we wanted to do and we decided to invite all the current players back this season because they have earned the right.

"But I just felt we needed a few people in certain areas."

Stocky defender Penny is a player Brown sees as one of the best in the league.

"He's as good a defender as you're going to see," said Brown. "He can fit in to our system at the back and he's a born leader and hopefully his experience will help," he added.

Meanwhile cover has also been brought in for wingers Matty Hall and Alex Cowley.

Reds fans will know a lot about Simon Hollis who managed 10 goals in 12 games when he came in on loan in December 2002.

Less will be known about left footed 19 year old Rob Taylor.

Brown said: "He's a very, very technically gifted player and definitely one to look out for in the future."

Brown is also keeping his eye on four Kidderminster Harriers players.

Mark Yates, Sean Parrish and Matt Gadsby are already free agents and Brown is also keeping track of John Williams.
