BARNARDS Green won a thrilling Sunday League encounter at North End Lane with a four off the last ball securing victory.

Kidderminster batted first on a warm afternoon and openers Pyke and Siwicki made steady progress against the opening attack of Brown and the accurate Tim Williams. Mark Hooper was introduced and achieved the breakthrough having Siwicki caught behind by Doughty.

Boult bowled his nine overs for just 20 runs picking up one wicket. Jez Clarke picked up the wicket of Pyke who was the mainstay of the innings making 86. Tim Clarke and Devin Ratcliffe picked up two wickets each as the innings closed on 215-9 off 45 overs.

Barnards Green innings got off to a lively start with Kevin Golder (56) and Paul Drinkwater (25) finding the boundary regularly. At the drinks break the Green were well placed at 98-2 off 23 overs

Some tight bowling from Mansell (2-25) and two wickets for Mitchell and all of a sudden 37 were needed from the last four overs.

Jono Boult (57no) found his form with the bat and with the aid of some well-placed boundaries saw the Green home, supported by Mark Hooper with some excellent running.
