RENOWNED singer and songwriter Jamie Knight is set for his big break after being chosen to be part of an international music compilation in aid of charity.

The Greatest Music You've Never Heard, Volume 1, is to help raise money for breast cancer research.

It is also set to be a breakthrough for the independent music talent around the world featured on the CD.

The CD has been put together and financed by London music marketers, Mosquito Media.

From each copy sold, £1 will be donated to breast cancer research.

Hundreds of independent artists and bands from around the world applied to be on the compilation, which gave the producers at Mosquito Media the hard task of choosing only 17.

The bands and artists chosen are from America, Europe and from England.

Jamie's song, In Love's Jealousy, taken from his album Where The Heart Lies, will be featured as one of the tracks on the album.

Jamie is the only artist chosen from Worcester.

"I'm very pleased to have been chosen for the compilation," he said.

"It means a lot to me to be able to do something for breast cancer as my sister died of it three years ago."

Jamie, who lives in St John's, Worcester, is a singer and songwriter, who plays acoustic guitar.

He is currently recording a new album in a studio in Pershore.

The Greatest Music You've Never Heard, Volume 1, will be released across Europe and the US.

It was released in this county on Tuesday and a massive launch party took place at venue Bluu in Nottingham, where Jamie performed.

Richard Abbott, of Mosquito Media, said he was proud to have a talent such as Jamie on the CD.
