REDDITCH laughed its socks off on Friday night and probably did the same again on Saturday.

All fans of the farce would love this classic Ray Cooney Parliamentary romp. Set in one room of a Westminster Hotel, it follows the deceitful activities of a senior politician, trying to find the time to bed a secretary working for the opposition.

Their plan goes terribly wrong when they discover what they think is a dead body trapped underneath the window sash in their room. In typical farce style they decide not to do the obvious but to hide the body in another room and mock up a second discovery by someone not so vulnerable.

Other complications appear in the shape of an over-zealous hotel manager, a greedy waiter, a suspicious husband, a nurse, a confused wife and a body that comes to life.

The audience relished every twist and turn, close call and squirm. Veterans Paul Shane, Terry O'Sullivan, Giles Watling and Vicki Michelle did the play proud, with some equally wonderful performances by youngsters Tina Hall and Scott Wright.

One of the most pleasing sights was Scott as vengeful husband Ronnie spending most of the second act wrapped in a small towel. Most pleasing of all was when he dropped it on departure.
