So Councillor Dan Wicksteed thinks "Parts of the local economy are reliant on economic migrants, particularly in areas such as fruit picking".

If he believes this, it's time he did a bit of research.

These farms (and vegetable farms) now have coach loads of his "economic migrants" shipped in from places like Birmingham each day, doing those jobs that the indigenous travelling Romanies have traditionally done.

These travellers have now been displaced from farms because the farmers get away with lower wages than even the travellers were paid and many of these travellers can no longer find any field work and finish up on the dole. (Great economics that, Councillor!

And if he thinks these are "legal migrants" I suggest he parks his car near one of these fields, along with one or two of his friends dressed in suits. And watch.
