THREE days of top class folk music and fun is on the cards at an annual Bromsgrove festival.

A selection of world-class bands and soloists are booked to play at the Bromsgrove Folk Club Festival at The Bowling Green, in Stoke Prior, this July.

The line-up includes the supremely talented 'Risky Business', who combine excellent song writing, hair bristling harmonies and great instrumentals.

They will kick-off the festival on Friday, July 9, along with Bromsgrove Folk Club's resident band Fairfield and Mike Silver. Mike has been on the folk scene for more than 30 years and is one of the premier singer/songwriters in the country.

On the Saturday, Belfast-based band Craobh Rua will marvel spectators with a performance of traditional Irish folk music. The band consists of four musicians who mix traditional instruments such as the Uilleann pipes, whistle, fiddle and banjo with spine-tingling vocals.

Popular duo Mick Ryan and Pete Harris, as well as Harriet Bartlett and Howdenjones, will complete the second day's line-up.

The festival will be rounded off on Sunday afternoon with performances from Fairfield and the newly established Red 10.

And festival-goers will have no chance to be bored because when the music stops the fun starts with dance demonstrations, children's entertainment and the world foam flinging championships.

Weekend tickets, including camping, are available or alternatively music lovers can buy single day tickets.

The Bromsgrove Folk Club next meet on Thursday, May 27, at the town's rugby club in Finstall. Fairfield will perform. For further details call Yvonne on 01527 831557 or visit www.bromgrovefolkclub.co.uk
