WORCESTERSHIRE'S long-serving stars Graeme Hick and Steve Rhodes aim to carry on re-writing the record books during the 2004 season.

Master batsman Hick is looking to move further up the list of players who have scored the most first-class hundreds in a career, while wicketkeeper Rhodes plans to continue climbing the County's register of all-time Championship appearances.

Last year Hick suffered a lengthy spell on the sidelines because of a broken hand, but still had enough time to chalk up the 122th first-class ton of his free-scoring career.

He is in joint 12th place in the all-time list with the 11 players above him being: 1, J.B. Hobbs 197; 2, E. H. Hendren 170; 3, W. R. Hammond 167; 4, C. P. Mead 153; 5, G. Boycott 151; 6, H. Sutcliffe 149; 7, F. E. Woolley 145; 8, L. Hutton 129; 9, G. A. Gooch 128; 10, W. G. Grace 126; 11, D. C. S. Compton 123.

Rhodes enters the new season in 12th place on the County's all-time Championship appearance list which reads: 1, D. Kenyon (1946-67) 538; 2, R. T. D. Perks (1930-55) 524; 3, N.
