BARNARDS Green Cricket Club look forward to the start of the new season with two fixtures this weekend.
Tomorrow (Saturday) a mixed side of potential first team players looking to secure a place in the first XI for the season will visit Tewkesbury and are hoping for the weather to be kind to them.
Skipper Chris Smedley will be looking for some good performances from a team mixed with youth and experience including a first XI debut for 14-year-old Liam Paddock, who shows great promise for the future.
On Sunday, another mixed team will entertain Birlingham at North End Lane which looks in tip top condition thanks in the main to the efforts of Roy Mayo, who has put in countless hours of pre-season preparation.
