CLOWNING, singing and improvisation will keep audiences at the Theatre of Small Convenience on their toes when a one-woman show visits the theatre.

Dorothy Watkins, from West Malvern, is set to perform her unusual 'made-in-the-moment' drama, A Drop in the Ocean, on Sunday.

The play is based on the themes of spring and birth and Dorothy will use various techniques to become different characters, objects and scenes. The actual plot will be determined on the night, based on feedback from the audience.

"It's like having a big sack of skills and just picking them out to create a new environment," she said, "I'll chat with the audience and ask them what they would like to see in the show - be it a policeman or a bar of chocolate."

Dorothy most recently performed at the venue with actor Simon Blakeman during a series of pantomimes at Christmas and is looking forward to returning.

She said: "It's the intimacy - each member of the audience is special. It's a lovely space to perform in as so much love has gone into creating it."

A Drop in the Ocean starts at 7.30pm at the Edith Walk theatre. Tickets cost from £5 to £7 and can be booked on 01684 891473.
