I think it's called Murphy's Law. Having written in my article last week about speeding motorists, I've been nicked.

I Was driving at 36mph on New Road in Worcester. And it's a fair cop, the speed limit is 30, I broke the law, no objections there.

It worries me a bit though, when coming out of the City later this week, I was "ripped off" by a bloke in a Smart car who must have been doing 50 over the bridge.

'He's gonna get one' thought I. But no. He gets to the camera, puts all brakes, parachutes, anchors and the like on, goes through the camera at 30, and then bombs up Bromwich Road at 110 !

But not moaning, I shall pay up.

Talking of roads and traffic, I nipped out on Easter Monday for 'ten minutes' to get something urgently needed, got back an hour later, and remembered why I don't go out on Easter Monday... Well not in the car anyway.

By the way, I found those blokes at Coventry Rugby Club last Saturday, and had a quick word at the end of the game on Saturday.

Shame about 'Swanny' having to pack up more a while at least, nice bloke, and a good player as well.

I got the call this week asking 'Can you play on Sunday?'

Yes, the cricket season is here, and no I can't play.

I need to get into the right frame of mind for it, so I'm going to see my sports phsychologist next week.

By the way, Brian Lara and I have a few things in common.

Neither of us have opened the batting for Worcestershire, neither of us have abseiled down Big Ben and neither of have played second violin in the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Although come to think of it, I did open for Worcestershire in a Benefit Match, and Brian didn't.

By the way just to remind you, there's a big concert in Malvern next week for St George's Day. I'm hosting and there are three really good local bands (not the noisy variety), Worcester Male Voice Choir and me (but don't let that put you off). It's all for local charities.

It starts at 7.30pm. Don't forget next Friday is St. George's Day and it's something we English should be proud off, in fact I think it should be a Bank Holiday.

Anyway, if you want to come along get in touch with the Malvern Theatres (that's where it is) on 01684 892277.
