THE Morgan motor racing team has launched a new sponsorship scheme.

Supporters will help the Morgan Works Race Team in the 2004 Le Mans 24-hour race.

The hand-built sports car from the Pickersleigh Road factory, in Malvern Link, will be racing against high-powered supercars from the Porsche and Ferrari stables at the event in June.

The Morgan Aero 8 has already proved its mettle against GT-class racers, when it came tenth in a field of 22 in the Sebring endurance race last month in Florida.

Now, for as little as £50, members of the public can have their name inscribed on the Aero 8 Le Mans car.

The new personal sponsorship scheme will run alongside the Exclusive Partners Scheme, which offers donors of £1,000 or more private access to the team, special functions, tickets to the big race and the chance to win an Aero 8 road car.

Team manager David Dowse said: "Our very sincere thanks go to every single expression of support, even those without cash attached."
