THE taste of success has proved to be blackcurrant for a woman chosen as chief taster for Ribena's latest products.
Emily Swinburn, of Lower Broadheath, was a student at Exeter University when she was picked from hundreds of hopefuls to help formulate Ribena's new minty and spicy variations.
The firm wanted someone with a sensitive palate, who did not drink or smoke excessively, to help create its new OOOHH and AAARGH drinks.
The 22-year-old was taken on as a special consultant developing the drinks at Ribena's factory in Gloucestershire, ahead of their launch last month.
"I don't smoke or drink a lot and I try to avoid curries, so I suppose I do have quite sharp taste buds," she said.
Ribena has now insured her tongue for £1.1m.
