POWICK travelled to Coppertops for the third time for this Worcester League Division One league match as the previous two had been called off.

COPPERTOPS 4, POWICK 4

This was Powick's last game of the season and as the scoreline suggests this was a hard fought game.

Powick got off to the worst possible start when after four minutes Coppertops went one up from Luke Yeomans' 20 yard volley.

Powick started to settle down and after 13 minutes nearly pulled a goal back when Luke Marshall's shot was well saved by the keeper. On 16 minutes Powick got the equaliser when good interplay by Jamie Boswell and Phil Skilton enabled Luke Marshall to cross for Bryan Craven to slide the ball past the Coppertops keeper.

On 38 minutes Coppertops went in front again after Luke Yeomans crossed over for Dean Spiers to score the first of his three goals.

Just before the break Coppertops went further ahead when after a corner Spiers stabbed the ball home after a goal mouth scramble.

Ten minutes into the second half Powick pulled a goal back when Luke Marshall rounded the keeper to score.

Unfortunately Powick were caught sleeping when Spiers scored direct from the kick-off, having seen Powick keeper Ade Whittal Williams well off his line.

Powick's fitness and persistence finally paid off in the 70th minute when Steve Hadley provided the perfect through ball to Phil Skilton, who evaded a couple of tackles to slot the ball past the keeper.

Powick now showed why they are champions of Division One by going forward trying to get the equaliser.

With ten minutes to go Powick finally got what they deserved when Bryan Craven's corner was well met by Luke Dunn who headed home a fine goal.

Man of the match was Luke Dunn.
