POTTERY, woodwork and paintings will go on sale in Malvern next weekend, to raise money for charity.

The event has been organised by the Malvern Quakers and Malvern branch of Amnesty International after the success of a similar event held last year.

Local landscape painter John Smyth and artist June Greves are among those who will be selling-off work.

There will also be the opportunity to purchase donated art and craft work, such as the nine paintings given by Barry Barber from the estate of his mother, Gladys.

There were 60 pieces on show last year and there are expected to be more this year, with work ranging from £10 to £80.

Organiser Eoin McCarthy said: "There will be a range of pieces that people are putting forward, from sculpture to pottery to wood carvings.

"It was a great success last year and we hope this year's event will be even better."

The exhibition will take place at the Quaker Meeting House in Orchard Road and runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, April 24, to Saturday, May 8.
