PLANS for a spectacular summer sing-song in Cradley are underway to help raise funds for the village church and new school.
The Midsummer Musical Marathon will be a continuous 26-hour musical celebration on June 26 and 27. It will include a performance of Mozart's Requiem, a sing-a-long Sound of Music, bagpipes, rock and jazz.
Organiser Sarah Ashton and her team of 35 volunteers are running the event and more than 250 children and adults are already involved. They are asking local singers or musicians who would like to perform to get in touch.
"We are still looking for enthusiastic performers and with more than 100 people needed to take part in the performance of Mozart's Requiem and the sing-a-long Sound of Music, there will be something for everyone," she said.
