A DRUG user broke into a pharmacy and stole some pills before making a dash across neighbouring gardens, Worcester Magistrates Court heard.
Lesley Ashton, prosecuting, said defendant Mark Hayward broke into Barbourne Pharmacy on Tuesday, just before midnight, by smashing the front windows, and then took pills from the shelves.
"He then ran over gardens, causing damage to a plant, a washing line and fence panel," she said.
Miss Ashton said the 27-year-old also stole milk, chocolate and cider valued at £3.74 from The Co-op store, in Dines Green, Worcester, on Sunday, March 28.
Dale Sheehan, defending, said his client, who had been in prison before, told police during an interview that his crimes were a cry for help.
Hayward, of Gresham Road, Dines Green, Worcester, admitted theft, burglary, criminal damage and failure to surrender to bail when he appeared before court yesterday.
He was remanded in custody, and his case was adjourned to Thursday, May 6.
