INDIAN nurses working at Worcestershire's hospitals have been awarded certificates ensuring they are sufficiently qualified to work in the UK.
The nurses were presented with their Adaptation Certificates by chairman of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust Michael O'Riordan at a special ceremony yesterday.
The 22 nurses will now work at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Kidderminster Hospital, and the Alexandra, in Redditch.
A Trust spokeswoman said: "Although the nurses are fully qualified in India, they have to undergo further training on the wards and attend lectures at University College Worcester in order to obtain their adaptation certificate and PIN number from the Nursing and Midwifery Council, which enables them to practise in the UK."
