A teenager charged with murder has appeared before a judge at Worcester Crown Court.
Darren Moffat, aged 19, of Bewdley Lane, Evesham, is accused of killing Alan Jacewicz on Monday, February 9, this year.
Mr Jacewicz was stabbed 36 times at an address in the town and was certified dead on arrival at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.
Judge Michael Mott adjourned the case until Friday, May 28, for Moffat's plea to the charge to be taken.
The judge was told that the defendant's barrister was waiting for the prosecution papers to be served and a medical report on Moffat.
Prosecuting, Richard Atkins said a trial - to be listed later this year - could take five days.
Moffat, who spoke only to confirm his name, was remanded in custody.
