JAN Molby believes he has nothing to prove when Kidderminster Harriers lock horns with his former club Hull City at Aggborough on Saturday.

Molby, along with his assistant Gary Barnett, quit Aggborough in March, 2002, to take over the Tigers 'hot-seat'. It proved an ill-fated move with the former Liverpool star being sacked after just six months with the Nationwide League Division Three giants.

He and Barnett returned to take charge of Harriers last October and since then have been locked in what looks like being a successful battle against relegation.

On Saturday, however, Molby has the chance to put one over on Hull who are pushing hard for promotion. But the Dane is treating it as just another match, saying: "It's not a case of sticking two fingers up to the Hull chairman and proving anything to him because I don't think I have anything to prove to anyone. But, nevertheless, it would be nice to win."

Molby is unsure about what reception to expect from the Hull fans, particularly as he hardly had chance to get to know them during his brief time with the Tigers.

He said: "I was only there for a short spell as I was sacked 12 games into the season. I think what we did do while we were there was to be honest with the supporters and try as hard as we could.

"You can argue whether we were given enough time or not, but the club made their decision and I hold no hard feelings. It was an experience and such is life

"It's difficult to say what the reception will be from the Hull supporters.

"I felt that while we were there they were very supportive because they knew that changes had to be made. There was a re-building job and I think everything that's happened since I've left proved that.

"Peter Taylor came in that season with 34 games to go and you have to say he didn't make an awful lot of difference. All he did was continue the re-building job that I started.

"He began this season having emptied out a lot of players that I wanted to get rid of anyway. He brought in some new ones and now they are more of a finished article. But it was only time that enabled him to do that.

"That's the only slight problem I had with it all was the time scale."
