WORCESTER Warriors lost their warm-up match 33-19 away to a strong combined Neath/Swansea last night.
Sixways director of rugby John Brain said: "That was just the test we needed and I am satisfied with the performance against a well drilled side."
The Welsh side led 21-0 after 26 minutes with tries from winger Gareth Morris and two from full-back Shane Williams as the Warriors failed to match the home side's pace.
But winger Chris Garrard went close before the visitors scored a try, from a line-out when a strong forward drive saw Dean Thomas dive in to score against his former side. Fly-half Tommy Hayes added the conversion.
Andy Newman added a fourth try for the home side fourteen minutes after the restart.
The Warriors then began to play some determined rugby and were rewared when lock Mark Gabey touched down again from line-out ball. Hayes again added the kick.
Worcester then allowed Williams to score his third try before Werner Swanepoel, playing the last twenty minutes, dived in for his side's third try.
