LEAGUE leaders Malvern Town entertain bottom-of-the-table Coseley Town tomorrow (Saturday) in another Express and Star West Midlands League Premier Division game (2.45pm).

Their cause is made even more important as Tipton closed the gap on Town to just three points following their 3-0 win at Dudley on Tuesday night, Tipton also have two games in hand and like Town look to have a bit of a home banker this week when they entertain Wolverhampton United.

But Town general manager Richard Anson takes a far more simplistic view about matters.

He said: "With our goal difference, the fact of the matter is, that if we win our last eight games the title is ours. I know this means that we would have to beat both Tipton and Kington, but if we are to be worthy champions then that is exactly what we should be expected to do and I'm sure Tipton and Kington see it the same."

Town should be confident of success on Saturday though as they hammered nine goals past Coseley when they met them earlier in the season.

Although it did not make any real difference to Town's overall position, their points haul has been reduced by four points following the shock withdrawal of Newport from the league last week.

For Saturday's game Town boss Neil Hunt will be without Scott Morris and Dave Cannon.

Morris is serving a seven-day suspension and Cannon began a 35-day ban following his sending off at Bustlehome in January, but otherwise Hunt names from the following: Alden, Moss, Williams, Chalmers, Clayton, Hooper, Baldwin, Jukes, Halion, Preedy (P), Cox, Roberts, Smith, Owen, Beauchamp, Preedy (D).

Town have no midweek fixture.

Town Reserves hope to build on their top six league position when they visit mid-table Wyre Forest Brintons on Saturday (2.45pm).

Next Wednesday (March 31) Town U18s visit Stourport in another league fixture (7.30pm).

In the Herefordshire 'Giant-killers' Cup semi-final, the Town youngsters have been drawn at home to Hereford Lads Club.

A date for this fixture has still to be arranged.
