NEWTOWN Sports Juniors U10 Girls football team took part in their first ever mini-soccer match at a football festival organised by the Worcestershire FA.

The format of the event, which was held at the University College Worcester, was to give the girls as many games as possible, but due to the very blustery conditions and squally showers, each team were restricted to three games.

Newtown Sports Girls played against Redditch, Severn City and Pershore, and whilst they failed to register any victories, they did managed to score their very first goal through Celia Clements.

Bearing in mind it was the first time that the girls had played together in any form of match.

They showed lots of enthusiasm and commitment to compete in all three games, especially considering that several of the team were much younger and smaller than the opposition.

Such was their passion, the girls are all eagerly awaiting another match in which to try out their new found skills.

If you are a primary or secondary school girl and interested in playing or just be coached in an all girls team, then come along to the girls only coaching sessions which are held at The Chase ATP, every Thursday evening from 6.30-7.30pm.
