THIS was Radar's first game for four weeks and it showed in this Worcester Sunday League division two encounter.

MALVERN RADAR 0, PERDISWELL 1

There was plenty of huff and puff from both teams but nothing too creative and a goal 14 minutes from time secured the points.

Radar started quite well with Tony Bishop and Clive Churchill both knocking in some telling crosses which were well dealt with by defender Jason Howes and keeper Stuart Graham whilst at the other end Radar keeper Phil Birch was put under pressure by James Curtis's awkward back pass, the keeper just beating Mark Smith to the loose ball. He was soon in action moments later, this time superbly palming away Ade Smith's powerful low shot.

Radar fancied their chances in the second half with the strong wind at their backs but too many passes were over hit and it was all rather lack-lustre until Perdiswell took the lead. A great through ball by Scott Mitchell released sub Joe Spencer and he kept his cool to knock the ball wide of the advancing Birch.

This spurred Radar into action and Darren Loader had Graham back-pedalling with a 40-yard volley which the keeper was glad to grab hold of and, although under great pressure, Lee Brookes somehow lifted the ball over the bar from close range. The best chance to equalise came with just five minutes left when a harmless looking ball somehow fell at the feet of Nial Henderson whose shot was superbly pushed over the bar by Graham in the Perdiswell goal leaving his side to claim the points.

No game for Radar this Sunday.
