WEST Malvern entertained Inkberrow on Saturday hoping to complete their first Division One double of the season but due to gale force winds the game at times was a farce.
WEST MALVERN 1, INKBERROW A 2
The West kicked with the wind behind them in the first half and failed to put much pressure on the Inkberrow keeper. The nearest they came to scoring was a David Kelm header from five yards but the keeper to pull off a good save.
The visiting keeper was soon in action again when a goal kick was caught on the wind and he made a brilliant save to tip the ball over.
In the 43rd minute Inkberrow went in front when a good move saw their centre forward beat keeper Newman from close range.
The second half was ten minutes old when the West drew level, good build up play resulted in David Kelm getting the last touch in a goal-mouth scramble.
Neither side were making much impression but Inkberrow nearly scored from a goal kick going the length of the field and bouncing over keeper Newman and the bar. In the 85th minute another goal mouth scramble saw Inkberrow force the ball home to collect the three points.
Tomorrow (Saturday) West visit Oak Apple, players meet Eurohaus 2pm.
West Malvern are sponsored by Amey and the Cross Keys.
