SUBSTITUTE Antony Robinson changed the course of the game with a stunning second-half display against last season's Midland Alliance champions on Tuesday.

Playing against his former club, Robinson bagged a double and had a hand in a third as Stourbridge were swept aside.

Craig Webb, Richard Ball and Kerry Giddings all went close as Swifts dominated the first half without really testing new Stourbridge goalkeeper Jim McGettrick.

Ex-Bromsgrove man McGettrick blotted his copy book on 13 minutes, dropping a corner only for Giddings to place the ball wide.

Ball also missed the target on 33 minutes after neatly taking the ball past a defender.

Robinson, once on the books at Kidderminster Harriers, made an immediate impact, giving the Stourbridge defence the run-around.

On 69 minutes, he almost scored when he turned a defender which left him with just the goalkeeper to beat and shot wide.

Five minutes later, he connected with a low John Cotterill cross to score and then set up youngster Steven Hawkes on 79 minutes.

Leon Broadhurst reduced the deficit on 84 minutes when he got on the end of a Noel Milsum cross.

But Swifts went straight down the other end to restore their advantage as midfielder John Shirley beat two players before scoring.

Two minutes from time, McGettrick made another mistake when he could only parry a weak shot from James Wood and Robinson followed up.

On Saturday, Richard Ball steered Swifts to a comfortable 6-1 victory at Bilston United.

The striker bagged four goals against the West Midlands League side and has now scored eight in pre-season.

Ronnie Sayer and Wood netted the others.
