YOUNG cricket fanatics in Bromsgrove are being given the chance to get 'bowled over' with the offer of top class coaching - and lots of good fun!

Youngsters aged seven to 11, are being invited to join the Junior Boars Cricket Club, run by Bromsgrove District Council's Sport Development in partnership with Bromsgrove Cricket Club.

Every Wednesday evening for 12 weeks during the summer holidays, from June 9, the club will offer a packed programme of fun and games for keen young followers of one of the country's national sports.

Cheryl Holder, Bromsgrove's Sports Development Manager, said: "We have room for up to 80 youngsters, offering them a wide range of activities from learning the basic skills of batting, bowling and fielding, to expert tuition from qualified England Cricket Board coaches.

"They will also be able to take part in a speed radar gun challenge, make new friends, and become the proud owners of a Junior Boars polo shirt," she added.

The sessions will be held at the Bromsgrove Cricket Club ground in St Godwalds Road, Bromsgrove, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, until Wednesday, August 25.

There is an initial membership fee of £10, and then a further charge of £2.50 per session although for a one-off fee of £30, children can become a member and have all 12 coaching sessions included.
