ACOUSTIC music man King Rich will be bringing his talents to Malvern tomorrow when he plays The Lamb Inn.

King Rich is currently on MAS Records, which is Kidderminster College's independent record label.

Former Led Zeppelin star Robert Plant is the patron of the label, and King Rich was one of the people who helped with the creation of it.

"I am half way through recording for my first album, and it is beginning to take good shape," he said.

"I get an amazing buzz out of getting my own artistry across in music.

"My own music is very emotive, atmospheric, dynamic, mystical and honest."

King Rich has focused some attention over the past year to a successful yet tongue-in-cheek musical fanzine by the name of Promotional Marketing Tool (PMT).

"Even though the magazine was based in Kidderminster, there were copies which not only ended up in Bromsgrove, but also Australia and Germany - all over the place," he said.

"The aim of the fanzine was to promote musical talent within the area, and work in a positive way in society.

"I believe it easily achieved both of those goals."

King Rich's appearance at The Lamb Inn, West Malvern Road, will see him playing a mixture of his own music accompanied with cover hits from mainly the 60s era, from artists such as Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Animals and more.

"I guess I've concerned myself with playing material which isn't too tacky, but yet are still very well recognised by an audience of young or old people," he said.
