TOM Moody's Worcestershire Royals have been knocked off the top of the Norwich Union League Division One going into tonight's title showdown against Glamorgan Dragons.

Glamorgan set up a mouth-watering floodlit clash at Cardiff with a convincing nine-wicket win over Yorkshire Phoenix at Headingley yesterday.

The win lifts Glamorgan two points ahead of Worcestershire with both sides having three games to play. No other side can now win the title.

Victory for the Royals tonight would put them back in pole position, having briefly gone to the top with Sunday's three-wicket win over Kent Spitfires at New Road.

The County have a seemingly easier run-in. They play Nottinghamshire, who have already been relegated, at Trent Bridge on September 15 before a home clash against Leicestershire on September 22.

Glamorgan will go six points clear if they win tonight, but they have more testing games against Kent at Canterbury on September 15 and Warwickshire at Cardiff on September 22.

David Harrison was the toast of Glamorgan as Yorkshire suffered a C&G Trophy hangover.

The 21-year-old seamer, without a wicket in four previous appearances in the competition, returned figures of five for 27 to pave the way for a convincing win.

His performance, which included a spell of 5-10 runs in 26 balls, saw Yorkshire hustled out for 167, while Robert Croft and Ian Thomas helped themselves to half-centuries as the Dragons strolled home with more than 20 overs to spare.

Harrison also made an impression with the bat, blazing 37no from only 35 balls.
