HAVING beaten their hosts in the reverse fixture the previous weekend, Malvern found Chaddesley a much more committed side in this West Midlands Division One (South) fixture.

CHADDESLEY CORBETT 1, MALVERN TOWN RESERVES 1

Chaddesley dominated the opening exchanges and it was against the run of play when Malvern took the lead. The Chaddesley right back handled the ball in the 18 yard box and Rob Perrins sent the goalie the wrong way as he found the back of the net for a 0-1 lead.

Adam Simpson was strong in the air and Jack Shipman solid in defence, repelling most attacks until the 40th minute when, following a corner, the Chaddesley number five rose to head home from five yards out, to level the score.

In the second half Jamie Thomas put in a well flighted free kick and the ball fell to Jack Shipman and his shot was cleared off the line. At the other end Chaddesley's tricky number eight put in a low driving shot but the ever dependable Peter Nightingale dived full length and managed to steer the ball away.

For Malvern Joe Leighton had another superb all round game.

Town Reserves will be looking to continue their good run of form tomorrow (Saturday) when they visit Leominster (2.45pm).
