Give that man a job! Ian Wells (Your Letters, February 27) ideas are bold indeed. I would add to his list of missed opportunities that the Somerfield site should have been a proper, permanent, covered market.

Before anyone developed Malvern Theatres, they should have looked at the

Assembly Rooms in Ludlow, where there are rooms for local groups to hold meetings and classes at reasonable rates. Other towns have town halls for public meetings.

Instead, we have a very aptly-named great big, empty 'space'. Perhaps this could be the future of the post office building?

Church Street is a jumble of parked lorries and car exhaust fumes, where pedestrians often fear to tread. Malvern will never be attractive until it is pedestrianised and terraced to provide easier access up to Belle Vue Terrace.

How do we pay for it? Let's stop sending all those millions to Europe and keep some for ourselves.
